Our content frequently drives headlines at The Economist, Financial Times, The New York Times, and other leading titles. In the next phase of our growth journey, an experienced and passionate Social Media Manager will be key.

As part of the Marketing team, the Social Media Manager will manage and drive our social media accounts. We’re looking for a candidate who has previous experience in managing social media accounts targeting businesses and governments globally, knowledge of our industry, and passion for creating great content. Utilizing the infinite stream of reports, data, and insights from our Intelligence Unit, you’ll be able to create an engaging social media calendar. With a great eye for the details and creative direction and engaging writing style, you’ll be able to actively engage with a great audience, consisting of famous VCs, front-leading governments, interruptive startups, and industry-leading enterprises. You’ll work closely with our Sales teams, our Intelligence Unit who create and drive our reports, and of course the rest of the marketing team.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As a Social Media Manager, you will:

  • Own our social media channels. Responsible for the social media channels from strategy, planning, execution, as well as community management (engagement with relevant accounts)

  • Collaborate with the org but also initiate your own projects. Working with the marketing team, intelligence unit team, and sales team to create an engaging social media calendar. And develop targeted social media marketing campaigns (i.e to promote our newsletters)

  • Drive growth. Looking for improvements on how marketing, and social media in particular, can contribute to our revenue growth and showing confidence to experiment with new ideas that can help us attract, engage and retain customers.

  • Be data-driven. Focus on hitting KPIs and prioritize projects that have the highest KPI impact based upon data. Generate insights on performance and share learnings and improvements with the wider team

  • Be visible. Interact with our customers, potential clients, journalists, and thought leaders in our space - start meaningful conversations that will enhance our brand and following

Job requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in social media management or highly related creative role

  • Interest/previous experience working in tech, startups, venture capital, and innovation is a strong plus

  • Someone who is a good collaborator (takes input from marketing, sales, IU) but also able to act independently and can bring a fresh perspective to our social media

  • You are Structured and organized (great at scheduling and maintaining a content calendar etc) but also reactive to the latest news and trends

  • An “intelligent social hustler” who will organically make volumes of connections along the normal work duties described here above
