Intelligence Analyst Internship

Netherlands, Noord-Holland, AmsterdamIntelligence

Job description

Tech startups can sprout up anywhere, but their growth potential is tied to the richness of their home turf. Without access to the right insights, knowledge, and funding, even promising startups run out of steam. Thriving tech ecosystems are a cornerstone for innovation, job creation and economic growth. Data transparency has the power to accelerate entrepreneurship. While Dealroom is best known for sharing startup data and discovering industry trends – e.g., to help venture capital firms spot the next Spotify tree in the startup forest – helping foster tech ecosystems is also part of our mission.

In recent years, Dealroom has gained a strong reputation for high-quality content and data for venture capital firms, startups, corporates, and governments. Insights and content curated by our Intelligence Unit frequently runs headlines in The Economist, Financial Times, The New York Times, and other leading titles. Do you want to help create insights into startup ecosystems and the investments needed to help them scale? Then we need you as our Intelligence Analyst Intern!

We currently have multiple positions open for interns in the intelligence unit. Depending on where you’ll fit best you’ll work more on data and insights into:

  • (1) geographical regions (like London and Central Eastern Europe) with mostly government and public sector partners,

  • (2) startup sectors and themes (like fintech, healthtech and impact) with mostly venture capital firms and corporates,

  • (3) rankings of startups, investors and tech ecosystems

As Intelligence Analyst Intern you will

  • Learn about how the venture capital, corporate and startup innovation industry works, deep diving into what drives startup success;

  • Leverage Dealroom data to create compelling insights on trends within startup and venture capital ecosystems, geographies and emerging innovation sectors;

  • Support fellow analysts in analysing, discovering and showcasing emerging trends in reports, newsletters and events;

  • Improve the quality of our data, and work with fellow analysts to crunch the numbers.

  • Depending on what fits you best you might also be: interviewing founders and investors, exploring patterns and finding new angles to derive original content, perform ad-hoc projects in line with your own interests and emerging trends …

Your main objective is to derive original, creative and robust insights from our database, containing intelligence about startups, innovation, and venture capital investment. It doesn’t stop there. You get to control and improve the quality and curate the content of the Dealroom.co database. Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of recurring and ad-hoc reports which are widely shared across the Venture Capital industry and leading corporates. Of course you will be efficiency minded, always looking to automate or optimize steps in the creation of these reports in order to scale our future impact and for you to keep focussing on what’s new. And yes, the work you’ll help create will be read for sure. Our newsletter reaches the mailbox of tens of thousands of influential readers globally.
