The rapid growth of needs an ambitious, creative and detailed Graphic Design Intern to contribute to improving Dealroom’s brand image. In recent years, Dealroom has become a well-recognised company in the startup ecosystem, with a reputation for high-quality content and data for Venture Capital firms, Corporates and Governments. Our insights and content frequently run headlines in The Economist, Financial Times, The New York Times, and other leading titles.

Throughout your internship at Dealroom, you will be learning how to manage our brand image consistently across all channels and platforms, with the great opportunity to grow along with it as the company evolves.

You will learn how to simultaneously manage multiple design projects in collaboration with various teams since the design aspect ties everything together. The Marketing team will be your home base - here you will be focused on creating collateral for our marketing campaigns (promoting events, ecosystems, blog posts, etc).
Nonetheless, you will also dedicate a great deal of time to solidifying our brand identity and visual design of our reports, together with colleagues in the Research team (here is a selection of useful reports by the Design team: Tails Capital, Foodtech, Spanish Tech Ecosystem, Investor Rank, European VC Pulse Check, Fintech Q2 2022).
Finally, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to bring forward ideas, process improvements, and work on your own individual projects (for example, designing graphics for emails, creating presentation and illustration templates, and more). You are efficiency-minded, looking for ways to optimize design processes in order to scale the Design team, without falling behind on quality, attention to detail, and deadlines. You are eager to communicate and share your ideas openly with your colleagues and collaborate with them within a multicultural and rapidly growing business, but you also thrive working independently.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As a Graphic Design Intern, you will:

  • Support the Visual Designer with daily brand-identity-related projects

  • Create clean and engaging presentation layouts and visual assets for different use types, such as motion graphic animations, social media posts, and photo editing

  • Adhere and solidify the design brief throughout the team and projects without forgetting to bring your own flare to the table

  • Proofread content to produce accurate and high-quality work, with a strong focus on details

  • Ensure compliance with Dealroom brand look and feel across different mediums, and teams; learn how to make yours and elevate it to the next level by implementing it with ideas and creativity

  • Work closely with marketing, research, and sales colleagues to create on-brand collateral across various channels (mainly digital) elevating our collateral to the next level

  • Show your creativity and innovation when redefining a design brief in a rapidly changing environment

  • Be the owner of your projects and responsibilities, by presenting finalised ideas and concepts to the team and any stakeholder involved

  • The duration of the internship is of minimum 6 months, with the opportunity to become a full-time Dealroomer (most of our current Graphic Designer started as interns at Dealroom too!)

Job requirements

  • Currently enrolled in the last year of undergraduate or graduate-level studies at a European design academy/university
  • Please upload your portfolio, highlighting your most relevant projects; make sure the portfolio is organised, well-designed, and the most recent version.

  • You are proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

  • Strong typography, and layout skills to work on various design collateral, especially Dealroom reports

  • Experience with data visualization is preferable

  • You can navigate your way around Adobe After Effects and video editing (PremierePro)

  • Experience with motion graphics and compositing software is a plus (Cinema 4D, Blender and Keyshot)

  • Figma is a plus and Sketch is a bonus point

  • You are organised, able to prioritise and work under pressure with an excellent eye for details

  • Able to thrive in dynamic environments, and to bring creative solutions to daily challenges

  • Comfortable with working in a multicultural and fast-growing start-up work environment

  • Fluent in written and oral English.
