The rapid expansion of requires an ambitious, outgoing, and commercially-oriented Business Development Representative to support the Ecosystem team. By reviewing, scouting, and qualifying new business opportunities, you’ll act as the liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams.

You will work closely with colleagues in Sales, Product, Data and Research to answer inquiries from potential customers. In doing so you’ll learn the ins and outs of the product and will build the expertise necessary to advise prospective customers.

The Ecosystems team’s mission is to map startup ecosystems for governments, and public-private agencies committed to accelerating and fostering the growth of their local ecosystems. Providing them with data, insights, and visibility for their local ecosystems. Some of the current groups we support include Tech Nation, Start Alberta, Invest Atlanta, La French Tech, LaunchVic and many leading hubs around the globe. We are now ready for the next phase.

As part of the Ecosystem sales team, your main objective is to develop worthy sales leads across different channels, contributing to the achievement of our ambitious growth. Being the first point of contact for qualified leads and prospects, this role is highly visible and with a great impact, acting as a launchpad for further career growth.

This role is the perfect launchpad to grow into Account Management or Business Development within 6 to 18 months. And allowing you to grow alongside the company as we scale. Your tasks and responsibilities

As a Ecosystems Business Development Representative, you will:

  • Qualify and engage leads from platform signups, trial requests, and content downloads in cooperation with our Account Executives

  • Think creatively about identifying potential sales opportunities and ensure handover to our Account Executives

  • Contribute to business development projects like outbound campaigns and other initiatives

  • Act as the product expert to our platform users

  • Take ownership of questions and requests via our chatbox and contact forms and ensure timely and consultative responses

  • Communicate with our Product & Data teams and Intelligence Unit to provide high-quality responses to platform-related inquiries

  • Provide your colleagues and management with relevant insights

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Economics, Business Administration or related field of study

  • Available to be physically in the Amsterdam office a few days a week

  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Excellent written and verbal English

  • Master negotiation and communication skills

  • Have a strong sense of urgency, which translates into a high volume results-driven output

  • Have a passion for technology, startups, and venture capital markets.

  • Self-starting attitude with a hands-on and pragmatic approach

  • Enjoy working in a multicultural, remote, and fast-growing startup work environment

  • Experience in a previous startup or economic development organization having an understanding of the VC market is a plus
