Job description

We aim to deliver our clients high quality, extensive, and up-to-date data around valuable tech-companies. As part of the Product and Development team, the DevOps Engineer’s main objective is to facilitate the developers and data engineers with reliable infrastructure, in pursuit of our product roadmap.

Together with the team you design and implement new cloud technology solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. Our goal is to scale the backend software services in a distributed setup and, and create a highly available architecture supporting the use of modern backend languages. In parallel focus should be given to implement and scale enterprise-level security infrastructure.

In the near term, the team would like to reach a modern continuous deployment platform, driving more value for the users with faster and more reliable product delivery. In this role, you’ll act as the function lead and subject matter expert to drive and resolve all necessary infrastructure needs.

Job Description

The DevOps Engineer will:


  • Design, engineer, and implement new cloud technology solutions in line with the product delivery roadmap on Google Cloud Platform
  • Design, build, and scale backend software services for Dealroom distributed and highly available architecture using modern backend languages
  • Implement and scale enterprise-level security infrastructure
  • Develop a modern continuous deployment platform with cutting-edge technologies (containers, cluster schedulers, dynamic secrets provisioning)
  • Minimize toil by automating configuration via codification (Helm/ Terraform/ Infrastructure as Code)
  • Work and communicate with Engineering and Data teams to help them adopt the platform and best practices
  • Act as the function lead and subject matter expert to drive and resolve all necessary infrastructure needs
  • Setup and maintain a (visual) monitoring and alerting infrastructure (DataDog)

Job requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or a similar field
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Comprehensive DevOps skills including experience with source, artifact, orchestration, configuration, and secret management in concert with CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure & application monitoring experience
  • Hands-on Linux experience
  • Good understanding of system hardware, storage subsystems, and networking, and common data protocols and APIs
  • Experience managing multiple Kubernetes clusters in a production environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of core Kubernetes solution architecture and the extended Cloud Native Computing Foundation landscape of tools and services
  • Proficient using GCP (GCE, GKE, GCR, CloudSQL, Memorystore etc.)
  • Experience with resource orchestration (Terraform)
  • Have a desire to keep current with knowledge of technologies, learning new technologies, mastering them, and distributing that knowledge to teammates
  • Comfortable with working in a multicultural and fast-growing start-up work environment
  • Fluent in English. Any additional European language is a big advantage
