The rapid growth of Dealroom.co needs a curious, ambitious and focused Business Development Intern to support our Ecosystem’s Team mission to map global ecosystems in support of entrepreneurship and innovation.
In recent years, Dealroom has become a well-recognised company in the startup ecosystem, with a reputation for high-quality content and data for Venture Capital firms, Corporates, and Governments. Our Ecosystem Solutions help provide the data foundations for startup ecosystem acceleration through a Dealroom-powered database, focused on specific cities, regions, countries or sectors. The database provides access to investment-grade data, raises visibility for local tech innovation, acts as an important prospecting tool for investors, startups, and corporates, and informs policymakers with reliable intelligence and real-time insights.
As part of the Ecosystem Team, you will learn how to drive the success of startup Ecosystem Solutions globally by identifying and developing worthy sales leads across different channels. Daily responsibilities of a Business Development Intern include acting as the first point of contact for expansion opportunities; reviewing, scouting and qualifying new business opportunities; driving new sales and contributing to reaching our ambitious targets; working closely with colleagues in Marketing, Sales & Intelligence Unit to improve and leverage our assets.
You should be genuinely interested in anything related to technology, startups, and venture capital markets. This also includes getting to know the Dealroom database inside-out and staying up-to-date on industry news and trends to truly understand the potential of the Dealroom database for our clients and prospects. You should be eager to learn in a great team and rapidly growing business, but you also thrive working independently.

Your tasks and responsibilities:
As a Business Development Intern, you will:
Research and prospect into marketed accounts, markets, and segments seeking for key points of contact
Engage with prospects and hand over qualified leads within the sales team
Contribute to the development of the sales process, including CRM management and lead generation
Route online chat, trial-requests, and help sign-ups find the data & insights they are looking for
Support the account executives with client retention and follow-up action plans
Operate workflows, trial-flows and standard automation within HubSpot
Work in close collaboration with marketing, content and other sales colleagues to maximise the effectiveness of content and sales-collateral
Liaise with internal teams to share partner feedback and insights, and create revenue opportunities

The duration of the internship is a minimum of 6 months, with the opportunity to become a full-time Deal-roomie (many of our current employees started as interns at Dealroom too!)
Job requirements
Currently enrolled in the last year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a European college or university with a declared major in Business, Economics, or similar field of study.
Basic knowledge of startup ecosystems and VC markets.
EU citizenship or eligibility to work in the Netherlands (preferably already in the Netherlands)
Seeking a >6-month internship, and ideally available full-time
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Self-motivated, detailed, proactive, and able to prioritise
Organised, structured thinker, with creative problem solving skills
Interest in and passion for technology, startups, and venture capital markets
Comfortable with working in a multicultural, remote, and fast-growing startup environment
Fluent in English. Any additional language is a great advantage
