The rapid growth of requires a diligent and hungry Back-end developer to strengthen our team and drive client retention and account-expansion. The Back-end developer will take an active role in modernizing our tech-stack. Alongside projects focussing on day to day improvements, a significant amount of the sprint capacity is dedicated to our move into a (cloud-native) microservices-based platform needed to carry our vastly growing data set and user bases.

A successful candidate will have a hands-on mentality and be eager to work in a changing environment. We value a team player mentality and openness to various cultures and backgrounds. You have the ability to connect at different levels of an organization, both internally and externally.

Job Description.

The Back-end developer will:

  • Work with a complex PHP codebase
  • Develop independent and scalable microservices
  • Develop and maintain API’s and API documentation
  • Estimate the required effort to build new features
  • Build a cloud-native infrastructure
  • Debug and root cause analysis
  • Bring new and creative, innovative ideas to the table

Job requirements

  • Degrees in computer science.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience developing large scale web applications
  • Experience with PHP and preferably also other languages (like Node, Java, Go, Python)
  • Experience with Cloud Environments (like GCP, AWS)
  • Know what it means to build customer-focused API’s
  • Knows how to build stateless and scalable systems
  • Knows how to work with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • You have experience with automating and implementing recurring tasks in a CI/CD system.
  • Experience with modern queueing and caching systems (like RabbitMQ and Redis)
  • You have a genuine interest and experience in startups
  • Passionate about bringing the software platform to the next level
  • You are fluent in English and can communicate in a clear, goal-oriented way that leaves no room for interpretation.
